Replica Rims? Are they just as a good
Someone told me, I should just get a replica of a rim, and he insisted that they are the same quality as the other ones but without the brand name ? But they must be different, quality, and weight ?

I don't know but if it were me and the M5 style 345 20" is the objective, I would really try to locate a set of near new take-offs: They're the "right" width (9 and 10") and offsets (34), TUV certified, forged, lightweight (25-26#). Some of the OEM wheels I've seen for sale even have the factory TPMS and Michelin PSS mounted.
Yes, it'll be more expensive than the aftermarket replicas but most of them that I see for sale are 8.5" front (why bother?), not forged, not tested (i.e. TUV), and never list the weight (...hmm, that's a big deal for me). Lastly, if warranty is any issue for your car, BMW does not cover any failure of components or related damages caused by aftermarket parts (yikes!) Please let us know if you find any info to the contrary. |

+2. You've heard the old saying that you get what you pay for. And ... I wouldn't put my life or the life of my family into the hands of anything that is not tried and tested.

you'll be fine with the avg reps. You're still paying a good amount of money and they are tested for minimum standards they must meet. At the end of the day, if you are not going off-road, you'll be plenty fine. I'm about to install the M5 reps and based on all the other forum members who had them on with zero issues, I'd say that's a good sign. I hope I don't take my word back once I get them installed and put to the test.
