What production month and year to stay away from
Looking to purchase a 535 xdrive and after a lot of reading I was wondering what production month and year I should stay away from? It seems it's all over the place as far as when issues were rectified. Thanks!

I guess as a rule of thumb getting as new a car as you can is the best.
Early models usually suffers from some issues, but most of them are dealt with under warranty and may be fixed if the car has been properly serviced. |

I have a 1/2012 build and the only trips to the dealer have been for oil changes and a battery replacement under warranty at 10k miles. I do not have any of the issues that seemed to plague F10's built in 2010 and 2011. There are endless threads on these problems. Unless someone else responds differently, I believe most major problems were corrected just before my build date. I was worried that I would experience the same issues and luckily my car has been great. My lease ends I'm Feb and I am already planning to order another 535i. Someone will be very happy with my lease return.

I have a june 2011 535, not a single issue, drives like a dream!
I think the early problems were relatively rare(if your car works perfectly you wont write about it on a forum), and were mostly solved in early 2011.
