We're Back. F10 Acquired. "Build" Thread
7+ years ago I briefly owned an E92 335i automatic followed by an F30 335i manual. I don't think I fully appreciated those cars at the time but have missed them ever since. Last month, after being on the sidelines for a while, I purchased an F10 535i. We're back.
Not sure what I just got myself into and have never really worked on cars outside of a few random projects but I'm up for some DIY. Below are the details: 2013 BMW 535i -6speed manual transmission -Base (non-m) -Space Grey -Completely stock -245/45-18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S (square) Issues -Passenger front door doesn't lock/unlock, need to operate manually -Subtle shake felt while cruising -USB in center console malfunctioning. Charging symbol on iPhone continuously flashes when connected and car doesn't recognize device -Musty odor coming from ac vents when initially turning on Mods completed -Rennline Exactfit phone mount Potential Mods -20" Wheels. BMW 343M or VMR V710 -H&R Sport Spring Set -VRSF Chargepipe -aFe Magnum FORCE Stage-2 Si Cold Air Intake -Turbosmart Kompact EM BOV VR9 Dual Port -Muffler delete -35% window tint -Gloss black, single slat kidney grille -Front reflectors (color match, smoked, or gloss black) -Side markers (gloss black or keep stock) -Front Bumper Lip/Splitter (color match) -Roof lip spoiler (color match or gloss black) -Trunk lip spoiler (color match or gloss black) -Apple Carplay |

Congrats, hope it's a great one for you! I've been toying with looking for a 535i MT, but hard to give up the E90 life!

Congrats on the ride!
I hope you both appreciate it & enjoy it even moreso than your previous Bimmers! Nice find on the MT. !!! I smiled when I read your first mod completed (That Rennline mount is still on my list). I'm assuming you'll be upgrading the FMIC as well? Good Luck! |

I wasn't planning on upgrading that but if I do I'll probably order the VRSF one when ordering the charge pipe. I read more about the N55 charge pipes on F10s compared to F30s and don't think I'm going to replace it unless I end up having to (knock on wood). Apparently the cp setup on F10s is slightly different and I think they see a lot less failures compared to F30s. 20" wheels and a gloss black grille will be the next two mods. |

I agree 100% w/ Rennline = Cleanest Mount.
Unspec did an excellent write up when he installed his and I'll go ahead and post link (for others). That post sold me on it. https://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1685945 Black Grills and 20" wheels will make a huge aesthetic difference! So will addressing those side markers and reflectors (ugh, I can't stand those orange reflectors...ha ha). And the Chrome Side Markers on the LCI F10s are the single "eye sore" on an otherwise absolutely beautiful body design, imho. Not sure if you plan on DIY w/ paint or wrap but I figured I'd give a shout out to https://ind-distribution.com/ . They'll paint match and provide excellent quality replacements for reflectors/markers although they are a bit pricey. When I replaced my reflectors & markers it totally transformed the appearance of the car! Good Luck & Have Fun! |

Just verbally agreed with the seller and should be picking up these bad boys tomorrow afternoon!
OEM 343M 20" Front 20x9" Rear 20x10" I'll need to get new tires before throwing them on the car and can't decide between the size options below. Leaning towards front 245/35 and rear 285/30. Front 245/40 Rear 275/35 Front 245/35 Rear 275/30 Front 245/35 Rear 285/30 Front 255/35 Rear 285/30 |

Hell yeah man, those 19’s look like a good winter set 😤, I have style 356 wheels on mine and those 19’s used to be my stocks, if it were me id still try and find a pair of 20’s because the ride height with them are perfect.
This is mine right now on the 356 style wheels with H&R xdrive lowering springs. 2015 BMW 535d |

Slow.dzl quick question, how did you like the quality of those black line tail lights and what manufacturer did you go with for those? I'm thinking about swapping mine but wanted to make sure there were some good quality options available.
