'16 550 w/ 25k miles (w/ PIC) - Prev. Maintenance Advice?

Wanted to poll the audience:

I've owned the car for just over 2 years; all stock, adult driven. Wanted to see what preventative maintenance you would recommend to date. As far as I know, the car has not needed much of anything and the only fluids to have been changed are the below vvv. The car drives like a dream with no leaks, issues or anything. I have *yet* to have any issues or CELs come up since owning it. Since I have owned it:

***oil and filter change, new battery - Jan '22
***oil and filter change, break fluid, wipers - Sept. '22
***oil and filter change, new engine and cabin filters, new tires & alignment - Sept. '23

Just last week, i topped off the coolant bc the iDrive told me it was low.

Running original spark plugs. Per the carfax report when I bought it, the plugs were "clean & gapped" August of 2021. [***EDIT/UPDATE 3-18-24: Spark plugs were changed in Aug. of '21***]

Again, no issues with the car but plan to hang onto it for several more years. I'm familiar with the vanos timing issues, the turbo & engine seals plague. I'm not due for an oil change until Sept. 2024 and, at that time, I wanted to bundle any PM service recommended from the group.

TIA

Brake Fluid change every 2 years.

And what do you mean by "adult driven"?

Plugs “clean & gapped” would concern me. They have a single use crush washer. I’d replace them for the peace of mind.

How much coolant did you add? when the engine is warm, do you smell any sort of coolant? Check youtube for the Car ninja, he is a N63 Master!

Did a quick google search and found this:

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1728807

Guess I will call the dealership that did the maintenance and see if they can clarify. I would think that any BMW dealership that would go through the effort of getting to them, that they would just replace them.

Just got clarification from BMW dealership, that performed spark plug maintenance, that they were changed. Feeling better now.

I don't believe I have a fill line so i added just enough to come up to the bottom of the neck. I did not smell anything but after I topped off coolant, the message went away on the iDrive.

Beautiful ride!!!

+1 to brake fluid every 2 years.

I'd recommend coolant flush every 4 years.
ZF recommends transmission service every 60k miles / 8 years (fluid & filter). Since you have such low miles, I'd probably wait a bit longer but you're coming up on that PM interval. Also, when doing the transmission oil/filter it's a good time to change the differential(s) fluid & transfer case (if it's AWD).

If you ever grow tired of looking at the black front side "reflectors", IND Distribution will paint match OEM for you. They're a bit pricey but do excellent work and quality is top notch. imho, anything is better than the stock orange, so nice job with that!

Thanks for the compliment! Appreciate your input. Will keep your advice in mind for future PM intervals.

I've actually looked at the IND body-color reflectors and, yes, felt they were a little pricey for what I was looking for. I took some gloss black 3M vinyl and blacked them out and that was good enough for me!

That’s great! Good to know it’s just a reporting error.

That Flange is very common issue, All of these issues apply to N63, however N63Tu is updated and some of the issues are eliminated in the update.

Since you are aware of his channel I know there is a video he has specifically where he replaces that Flange, maybe more than one video I am sure, Please Enjoy this guy because it is therapeutic to me when I watch these videos from Car ninja!

N63 Dissection, Great video for reference. Also a great channel I follow as he does a B58 Teardown and a few N55s.
