All,

For those of you that have installed m5 mufflers on your 550i, how did you:

-deal with the differences in pipe diameter? What I've read is that the m5 piping is 10mm greater in diameter. IIRC the 550i exhaust is 70mm and the m5 80mm. Please chime in if I have wrong info.

-connect the two? Weld or clamps?

Pics also welcome.

My install is this Friday. And per another member, I am keeping my oem m sport diffuser. Another member, CLOUDVIII installed using the oem m sport diffuser by simply moving the hangers so they accommodate the wider spread tips placement on 550 vs m5.

Hi for my car i weld it in to prevent movements in sudden stops/acceleration. dont use a clamp because it easily slides out... well at least mine did. Also make sure the hangers are positioned correctly so it wont fall I got my shop to expend the hangers by 1 inch to ensure that it wont fall.

Thanks!

Agree on the welding... what about solving for the difference in diameter.
