New F10 Owner - 2011 Dinan Stage 5

I am not new to BMW, have had an E39 M5 for the past 10 years, wife has a 2011 335i sedan, and we have 5 BMW motorcycles. M5 is getting up there in age (180k) and in need of some good downtime to replace sensors and rebuild a few things, my friend is actually looking to buy it, refurb it and use it as a daily.
We have twins (boy and girl) that are almost 1yo now, and wifes E90 is just too tight for me to drive with car seats in the back and the M5 I didn't trust to drive them around in. So I went on the hunt.
I was undecided on what to get, I was looking at X5M, 7 series and 5 series, the X5M made the most sense, but at this point I couldn't bring myself to get an SUV, maybe in a few years when they are more active and we have to haul their stuff everywhere
Researched the heck out of all 3 models above, and thought I knew what options I wanted in a 5er, took one home from local dealer with a few of the tech options and liked some of them, I definitely see a Top View and maybe blind spot retrofit in future. I was originally set on ONLY M Sport, but came across a 2011 with 50k miles in Space Grey (same as wifes, which we love that color), M Sport front bumper and Dinan intercoolers, intake, stage 5 tune, Eisenmann exhaust, ACS springs..
In researching it I found out that it belonged to previous forum member tp550i. I got it from 2nd owner who had it about 16 months, most of the records are with the car, few things missing unfortunately.
Anyways, I flew into Indiana and picked it up on Sunday, drove to Memphis for the night then headed home to Houston on monday, was a long trip but the massage seats helped keep the blood flowing. Took a few sprinted runs on the freeway, man can this thing pull!!

Now what people want, the pics!

Gassing up for a long drive home

After a quick bite to eat

Trip Stats, 25.5, not too bad!

Family photos!

Under the hood (prev owners pic)

More to come.

Ditto, can only see one picture at the end. I just picked up a stage 4 used. Will post about it once my account is verified.

Just attempted to fix photos, let me know if they still don't work. Google makes it difficult for some reason

SirApoc, sweet, look forward to seeming them.

I love this, everybody should do this when getting a new car.
My trip wasn't anywhere as long as yours (only 6 hours, but that's because I avoided highway on purpose), but what a fantastic way to start the new ownership, I highly recommend this to everyone.

Car looks great, I'm always second guessing myself when deciding on what rims would work with certain car. Not sure I would pick those myself, but seeing them on your car is proving me wrong, they look fantastic, great fit.

Enjoy, congrats again.

Love the car and color! I also drove 330 miles to pick mine up (not as long as you), but it's a great way to get to know your car! Also, it's a good way to make sure you didn't get a lemon.

Congrats!

Wow those wheels look great! That is one of my options I'm considering.

Congrats! It's nice to have a properly modded car turn key!

Congrats, looks good. Got any more pics of the spoiler? I planned on getting the exact same one for my 550i.

Thanks guys! I was unsure of the wheels, look good in pics but not a fan of higher count paired spoke wheels like that, was never a fan of the old BBS wheels..
But damn do they work well with this car! I am loving them. Think I want to do some single 10 spoke grey wheels on hers, have wanted to do something for awhile but after seeing them next to each other it needs to be SOON..

I will try to snag some more. I like it though, adds a nice look.
I believe I read in original owners posts that he had the ACS logo section filled in.

I agree on the trip, it was a bit long, and I would have preferred a little closer so I didn't have to stay the night, I was missing the hell out of my twin babies.. But a 1k mile run is sure a way to get acquainted!

Ah, is that what that square indentation is in the middle of the spoiler? I planned on having it filled too, just haven't seen any good pics to tell what it was.

I know I know.. If it wasn't 180k on the odo I would probably have gone a different route. Maybe one day I can snag a low mileage one to stare at in garage.

Thanks guys, loving it! On freeway part of drive today I got 31mpg cruising at 70, not too bad!

How does the acceleration of the 550 compare to the nearly-classic M5?

I can' t recall seeing that wheel on the F10 but they look fantastic.
I like a low key near stock type wheel. To me they look like a BMW wheel, but distinctive at the same time. Very "M" like!
I'd save some money and keep them. plant some trees instead !!LOL Nice new crib BTW!!!!
