Converted Fogs to Cree LED
I put some cree LED H8 plug and play units in place of my stock Fog bulbs. I had sitting around from an earlier mod I did on my E90 angel eyes. They seem to match perfectly and throw no error codes. The mod took all of about 20 minutes for both sides.
Side By side with factory bulb With Angel Eyes on Next up I am getting blacked out kidney grills, also adding European Rear Fog Light switch

Really depends what you want to spend. These are cheaper ones I got from flea-bay that I had sitting around my garage. You can get them from Amazon too.
If you want to go "high end", you can check out Lux Angel Eyes. That is what I ended up using on my E90 to convert the angel eyes to LED from halogen. They have the highest Lumen output but sure if it's worth the extra $$$ in this application.

I always thought BMW should have matched the fog lights color temperature with the headlights...

I'm running mTEC Standard H8/H11 Golden Style on my F02 and E70, which work really well in foggy conditions and they look great. Fog lights are not supposed to match the headlight color. Warm colors are better in foggy condition, so that's why BMW stick with warm color halogens. Bright/white HID fogs are just going to glare back during foggy conditions. As for LED H8s, it's not bright enough to be practical yet.
