Need help to replace front reading light bulb

I replaced all of the interior light from the current yellow OEM light to LED light except for the front reading light. I'm not sure if I have to pop open the head center control or i can just remove the lamp cover. So I would appreciate it if someone can guide me through this.

Thank You

what brand led lighting for interior did you go with? since i heard certain brands will cause error codes and such. Any good recommendations on what brand and prices? Any pics of them installed? Thanks.

anyone done this?
I am stuck here too.. I can pull the front of the plastic down, or the rear, but I can't pull the whole thing off to get to the bulbs -its still attached in the middle.
I tried the headliner method -seems even tighter there..
The clear cover doesn't seem to be able to drop down either ..

Experts! help please ..

You have to pop the plastic cover that is around the SOS button, you should see 2 black holes. Use a small screwdriver to pop the clips that is in the black hole and pop the surrounding clips around headliner.

Not that I know of..
but everything is 'T10' (don't ask me what it stands for, but its the most common size, also known under different names/code)
except the vanity mirrors are t5, and trunk is 42mm festoon
the fun part is getting them out the first time round

Where exactly should I press?

Metal tip? White plastic part? or in between?

I think I pressed quite hard, but nothing happened.

can't remember if its plastic or metal, you can see where to squeeze if you shine a flashlight on it..

Couldnt find the pin. Find a metal part and a huge plastic that don't seem to be the pin. Anyway, after u pressed the pins, do you remove the black dome plastic area, or the brown huge plastic around the dome?

Replace / change BMW X5 E70 reading and dome bulbs lights procedure

Follow this process to remove the entire body. It has 4 pins in total. 2 towards the mirror and 1 west and 1 east side.
