The roof was definitely not cut by firefighters . . .you cut at the A and B pillars then peel back the roof. That looks like it separated at the seam.

I'm gonna guess some sort of big animal hit. Do they have moose in France?

Notice the front right tire seems to have ripped, most likely from a cornering furl. But the roof and sunroof seems intact/unscratched. Which makes me think the car hit something from the front right area as it's turning a corner hard. Object or animal ripped the front right of the car and ended inside the car. Hence the necessity to cut stuff up to evacuate the occupants, or possibly the animal.

I have to agree. They can't cut something that cleanly either. It's kind of scary to think that the roof caved in. I'd like to know more.

Plus, it seems to me that the doors are attached to nth in the picture. I couldn't c the A-pillars on both sides, no B-Pillar on the passenger side, cannot tell about the rest. It's like someone jus leave it there. I believe it should be inner metal roof frames (roof line) which the door stay with, and the top(roof) part of the car attached to, that runs from the front to the back, but there is nothing there in the picture. Jus doors, no A-pillars, no B-pillar, no roof line.
Is it possible if they jus cut or take the hole package of the roof out from the A-Pillar to C-Pillar and leave it in there inside the car after the rescue becuz the roof seems to b no scratch at all?

P.S. It's jus realli sad lookin at this picture. Apologize for my incorrect vocabs or eng gramma.

I have to agree doesn't look like they cut the roof it would be all messy if they did. Maybe they hit something and it landed on the roof regardless the roof looks weak to have just caved in like that. I hope the passengers came out ok.

Without any details, this is all just speculation. Hope the passengers in the car are ok. I'll reserve judgement about the vehicle until I have more info than just one photo.

well it doesn't have a roll cage lol, and you don't know how fast it was going, so how can you judge if it's safe car just by pics?

it IS a strange looking damage though, since doors look like they are attached after accident, and it seems the car hit something like a poll or wotnot on the front right corner and the tree or poll collapsed on it after.... Who knows, but definately a bit premature to call car unsafe esp since we don't know if people survived. May be it was even damaged in transit. can't even see airbags deployed.

Yeah to me it also looks like they cut the roof off. I believe when a car is involved in an accident and one of the occupants complains about neck and back injuries they just cut the roof off even when there's not much damage to the car. Well afaik they do. I've heard stories here that people who were at an accident scene and helped one of the drivers involved by letting them sit in their car had the roof cut off because the person complained about back injuries. A car not even involved in the accident was written off that way.

P.S. hope the occupants are okay.

The roof must have been cut. If the car rolled over the roof, the sides would be damaged. Just look at all the other accidents where the BMW's rolled over the roof. They do not look like this. BMW's are safe, but it does not mean nothing can happen. Very sad.

The 5 Series F10 was released in March 2010.

Here a rollover of 7 Series F01. Just look how solid it is.

If they had one of these, that roof could have definitely been cut-off very cleanly.

Did you guys see the Pitch Men episode where the inventor of this saw cut an entire car cleanly in half? He is French too, so this is by no means a far shot that French rescue teams are using this tool by now.
