Can I get folding mirrors coded?
I just pulled the trigger on a 2016 F10 with quite a few options which will replace my 2013 F11. it took my dealer 1 month to find the car I was looking for with all the options. As i am located in Belgium, my dealer is able to source the car directly from Germany so lots of choice and a very good price :-)
There is one item I completely forgot which frustrated me extremely on the F11 - the folding mirrors. At the time I had a professional do some coding to enable some extra features on the iDrive, but I vaguely remember him telling me that the folding mirrors were not possible as it required to be "pre-enabled". While I saw many posts in the forum talking about coding the features, i am not clear if this will be possible with my car. I pray this is possible, because it will be a real bummer having such a nice car and having to fold my mirrors manually each time I park the car in a narrow street :-( |

If your f10 has the switch on the driver door to fold in the mirrors, then yes you can have it coded. Mine has the switch and I had mine coded to fold when I lock it up either with the fob or the door handle. I just simply hold my finger 1/2 second longer on either and the mirrors fold in, if no 1/2 second longer they stay out. |

Stateside, 430/431 Auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors is standard. Usually in EU, vehicles are coded from factory to support folding mirrors. As others stated, if you have button on driver's side door to fold, then it can be coded.

Then, mirrors are all or nothing. Windows will only & continue to move if and during CA pressure or keyFOB button hold. |
