Compass on rear-view mirror...
Drove my '09 335 this morning since we had a major thunderstorm in Chicago - I noticed something was different about the rear-view mirror - the 335 had a compass - checked on the 550 and it does not...is this across the board or is there some option/package that was missed on mine?
Sucks not having it since I occasionally rely on it for general direction....

Sat Nav gives you compass direction. Alright... You have to look down slightly, but hardly distracting given the high placement of the navi screen.

i have a question...does anyone know how to change the compass to say N,W,E,S on the direction you traveling? I hate it when it just always show N and a arrow. I would like it to saw E when im traveling east.

Not sure if this helps but the map orientation can be either North Up or Heading Up. With North Up, it's pretty easy to tell at a glance which direction the vehicle is heading.

Yes. There is an orientation or point of view selection on the side of the map. I think its one or two clicks on the idrive knob up from the map scale on the bottom. You can select "direction of travel".........Something like that.
