yeah i just confirmed with Tischer bmw and they said the same thing. They don't see any parts connecting the caliper to the wheel assembly.

I spoke with Long in detail about putting the M5 brakes on a 528/535/550. The fact that Long is going to have to create custom brackets is just one of many problems with doing this conversion. I've seen the M5 brakes in person and the are HUGE. In order to make them clear the wheels he had to run a 20mm spacer. The problem then is that the wheels would stick out almost an inch past the fenders. The only way to fix this was for Long to get the M5 front fenders as well because they are about 20mm wider than the fenders on the 528/535/550. Long story short this conversion is not going to work... Unless:

1. You do the full M5 frond end conversion with the wider M5 fenders
2. You run front wheels with a flat face (no lip or concavity). You still might not be able to fit the brakes without spacers of some kind, which could cause fitment issues

Oh trust me, Long will definitely pull it off! That guy is the Modfather! But like I said, he tried it witth the OEM fenders and it didn't work, so now he's going to have to install the M5 fenders.

Did it not fit LT's car because of his BBS wheels? Did he try the oem wheel?

^ some of it is true. The kit did not clear my BBS since they have a low pad. I added a 20mm spacers when I did the markup. Today I got the prototype back and was able to clear the wheels with a 10mm spacers. That is very good news for other wheels. I have not tried OEM wheels. I can try it with the OEM type 356 tomorrow. But for now, here are some pics of the brakes completely on with the prototype bracket.

Long, so you're saying that fenders DO NOT need to be changed and this all fits as is with stock wheels but on aftermarket wheels a 10mm spacer is required?
