What if it is really an M5? He slaps on 535i exhaust to throw you off. It's a sleeper!

I wouldn't mind putting a 528i badge on, I get Honda/Acura/Nissan drivers who always try and get me to "race" on the highway. Maybe if I changed the badge they wouldn't bother?

Yeah, there's a guy who is apparently one one of these forums who I read about in EVO magazine. He's in London and has an E39 M5, but has it rebadged as a 520d or something like that. LOLZ.

Well, I saw a BMW with an AMG badge - go figure... I pity people who base their self-esteem on of the car they drive.

I spotted this same car last weekend in Bayridge Brookyn. Still proudly rocking that M5 badge on his 535.

Its a shame though because the car looks nice as is. Not sure who the owner thinks he's fooling besides himself thinking nobody knows lol

Who was it with an E60 M5 that badged it up as a 520d? That's brilliant!

M means nothing these days except Marketing, yes M for Marketing. Look at the cosmetic differences between an M5 and a 535 with the M sport package: dual exhaust and a fender vent, or is it a vent?. As for the rest only the experts on this forum could tell. My car has 11, count 11 Ms displayed all over the place - isn't that just pure marketing? I feel pitty for those buying a real M5 - what a monumental waste of money for a marginal performance improvement with a warp speed depreciation

I dont want to buy a 100k car just for looks and have terrible mpg, 300HP is more than enough for my needs yet getting acceptable Mpg,
that i could spend the extra 40k on a convertible and drive it on the weekeneds just to take a break from the kids, or i spend it for my kids college~

i really hate haters hattin too much,

You can have all that and also leave off the M badge too. Just saying

Ultimately owners can do whatever they want and people that rebadge with a higher model's numbers are probrably fooling 90% of the clueless people out there. Just know that for the other 10% that do know...you are being laughed at.

I've seen so many people go out of their way to put on a million AMG E63 or ML63 badges all around the car when its only a 350 model with a dinky exhaust. Cracks me up every time...

I dont know if there is a nicer way way of saying this but your comments make you look really dumb!

M is for "motorsports" heck we can even say that M is for "more" but not "marketing"
