Won't go above 161mph

Hi all,

Asking a question I've seen before but have never seen a legitimate answer to.

I had never done a top speed run on my car before until accidentally the other day. I've got a 2014 550i non m-sport. Passed a trooper at around 105mph and decided to run when he turned on the lights. At 161 exactly, the car noticably stopped accelerating (felt it and the rpms stopped increasing). Was in 6th gear around 3.5k rpms when the car hit what felt like a brick wall. Running vrsf downpipes and bm3 stage 2 tune. Speed limiter is turned off in the tune settings. It felt like the car had a lot more in it, which would make sense when stage 2 550's are dynoing in around 580whp.

I'm located in a colder climate (about 25-35 degrees farenheit at the time) and the car throws on the coolant light occaisonally due to the ambient temp. Unsure if that might contribute. Also odd that the speedometer stops at 160 and thats where the car stops. HUD also shows 161.

I've seen heatsync tuned 550's do 180+ on stock turbos so I know that the car can at least go over 160 on a bootmod tune. Any insight would be fantastic! Thank you!

What I'd like to know is, was 161 MPH fast enough?

Yep, decided to run. I'm not taking a 105mph speeding ticket. No, 161mph was not fast enough but was fast enough to get away.
