Question Exotic car driving event options? (For my birthday)

My birthday is coming up & I'm thinking perhaps try one of the exotic car track experiences. However, I don't want some nonsense around a parking lot or do a whole 60 MPH on the track or get a mere 15 minutes of seat time. I want to actually drive.

Anything coming up in the Spring or early summer not too far from the Philly area that doesn't cost stupid money?

Just Turo something for a day or two. Cheaper and more fun for the money imo.

I highly suggest the BMW M School. Fly to either Spartanburg or Thermal for 2 Days and drive the wheels of an M2,M3 and M4. Not really "exotic" but lots of fun. Or head to the Porsche Driving Experience in Carson, CA and take a Porsche GT3 out on the track and learn to drift. I've done the 2 day school and I'm going to hit up Porsche next.

Not interested in any BMW cars for this & a friend is going to be footing the bill so a flight + event cost = no bueno.

Sounds like a good friend. I bought a Porsche last fall and have got two invites to do Porsche events since. Not super cheap but you should reach out to your local Porsche dealer or Porsche club and see what they have coming up. They do lots of track stuff and they put on a pretty good spread all in.

Good luck and buy your friend a beer for me.

I'm heading to Vegas next week and might take a shot at this, but it might be out of OP's friends budget....

I don't think OP is going to find anything that fits all his criteria.

I know they have exotic car things around here all the time. Just don't know which ones are worthwhile. If none, I'll just rent a car for a weekend or do something else completely different.

Thats what I was originally thinking although the OP indicated he wanted track time I believe. There are likely exotic car rentals around him though. We have a number here in Southern Ontario so getting a Ferrari or Lamborgini for the weekend is always an option.

If you are willing to drive to NY, check out Monticello Motor Club. It’s a private track, but if you pay you may be able to get in and they have all kinds of vehicles including Radicals and Kart Racing and off road stuff. And there is a Casino near the track! Now that’s a Birthday!

If you're looking for something local and a lot of seat time, you'll like Gotham Dream Cars. I went with a buddy of mine a few years ago for his birthday. We did the Dream Car Tour. Drove six different cars during the tour and it lasted half a day. Lambo Murc, Gallardo (one coupe, one vert), 599GTB, SLS and DB9 Volante.
It was a great time for sure!

I'm doing an event this weekend with this company and I can let you know how it goes. Looks like they have an event near you in June too:
https://www.thextremexperience.com/t...orsports-park/

Unfortunately, I don' think you'll find anything where you get more than 15 min of seat time for less than $1000. Most of these things give you 3-5 laps for $3-500

I've instructed at two of these event/clubs. They had Lambos, Ferraris, an Audi, and a few others. We were paid a nominal for me (compared to my day job) fee to instruct for two days where we'd instruct for one fee, and drive for less of a fee. The warm fuzzy excitement wore off pretty quickly and it was pretty apparent to me I would not pay what they were charging to do it from a consumer stand point.

LOL!
I'm not sure what you were thinking price wise, but to rent a Ferrari for the weekend costs about $3000+.

The option I gave you isn't the cheapest, but you'll definitely get the most seat time. The most expensive option/seat time will be at a track event. They put the most wear and tear on a car, hence you pay for it.

I rented from Gotham before. Good peeps.

I'd cash out my 401k just to get a tt Gallardo at this point of my life.

Like someone mentioned go on turo.

I quoted a $1500 1 day M school and BMW Ms aren't exotic enough. You think $1k is too much for a real exotic... not sure what you were expecting to pay. Maybe you should let us in on your friend's budget

I agree with the use turo comment. You can usually find nice cars for the day for under a couple hundred bucks.
