Of all things, I like how the middle part of the front isn't as droopy and is now more sharp and upright. The fog lights seem like they'd be much better in a wide, rectangular housing that fits inside that chrome brightwork, similar to the ones on the new 6 series.

I wonder what the LCI M-sport bumper will look like?
Doubt it. Maybe M5 guys if the LCI refresh makes it over to them but 99% of the F10 guys don't even mod! Very different from the 3'er crowd always chasing the latest and greatest. Now the M5 guys seem to spend tons of money on their cars so i wouldn't doubt them slapping on every LCI bit if its a simple bolt on.

lets wait and see what the LCI M-sport would look like.
to me, the most important LCI update would be the N63Tu engine and LED headlights. the N63 is a great engine but it can be problematic for some owners.... just speaking from experience

Where are those whiskers going on the lower grill?
I like the old one better...lets see
If the new LEDS are brighter. The xenons on bmws are disappointing versus Acuras...

I like the smaller kidney grills. Does anyone know if BMW might offer some kind of ecu tuning to match the new 2013 550i output? If I didn't lease I'd have serious buyer's remorse right now.

The hood shut line really needs to be integrated into the kidney grilles, especially now with the crease running from the upper corner of the headlights.

The kidney grills arent smaller. Its because the picture of the LCI is smaller next to the pre LCI one.

The LCI fixes what I originally found the front end of current F10 is too bulky.

I've actually just canceled my order and I'm going to wait until the MY14 goes on-sale. I like the cosmetic changes on the LCI and I'm hoping for maybe a small bump in HP. I have no seen an actual legitimate concensus as to if the 535 will see a slight bump like the 550. Here's to maybe!!

LCI looks sharper, less frumpy and fat as current 5er.

Not too keen on the changes, I never liked the non-sport version, with the changes it is now closer to a 3 series look, I think this does not suit a car of it size, I rather like the existing version, but I guess like all BMW need to see the car in flesh before any judgments

I think its going to look alot better than the pictures show. They are out of perspective I reckon, even the stance looks wrong. Will be interesting to see what line changes along the side there are.

Yuck. I dislike the LCI design. (And also dislike the 4 Coupe design, although I dislike this more)

Why does it look like an AUDI?

Yes the headlights look like they shrunk.

And the lines leading out of the headlights really make the front too complicated. There's already the two lines on top of the bonnet that I think could have done without.

Sorry, but I really am not digging this. F30 was OK. F20 was yucks. This... too

It looks meaner and with more attitude. Not so soft as today. Itīs OK with me! But the most wanted upgrade is the steering imho.

I'm pretty indifferent to the change. I think it looks good and the changes are very subtle. I wouldn't choose one over the other based on looks, but rather on the improved performance of the '14

Instead of the word bulky, I rather use the word more substandial, which a sedan in price range should be.

Thanks for your English 101, I must admit it is not my primary language.
I don't even know what 'substandial' means.
Anyway, I purchased my F10 528i in 2011 for around usd130k and I still think the front end is bulky until the LCI.

Haven't read through this all yet, but I think the reports that the "headlight shape" have changed are untrue. It seems as if the *shape* of the headlights are exactly the same? The grille looks smaller as one "report" mentioned, but I think it's the same size, just the less slats look makes it appear smaller.

I agree. I got fed up with Mercedes' lack of confidence and foresight in their designs, completely overhauling their designs for mere facelifts. No luxury brand in the world who charges a premium should succumb to short-term mindfame of needing to change so quickly and drastically. I respect BMW for treating their 5er like a "perfect design", therefore not doing much to change it. It allows the car to age gracefully, shows confidence and talent by designers, and shows that they treat the model with respect and dignity. Mercedes has become the opposite these days (the facelift of the E-Class is a bad joke in this regard, completely undid every gimmick they initially designed the car around, therefore making it now look forcefully disjointed and desperately changed to hide the fact that they clearly didn't like what they did with the pre-facelift).

It is the worst front design on a BMW in the BMW current line up. I may look at an Audi A7 since it is so bad.
I agree with you. I really hate the trend of "fussiness for the sake of fussiness" with no focus on harmony. The very reason I switched to BMW was because they're designing timelessly harmonious and sensical designs again. I'd hate if they start going the route of messy-designs going forward. That said, compared to other manufacturers, I still find the LCI traits the F10 has going on for it so far classy enough, relatively speaking, though not as clean and classy as the pre-LCI.

Oh man, I hope that is not where they're going! I let M-B go since they've become a design team who seem like they party too hard then go straight to work to design their upcoming cars. I just really wrapped myself around BMW as I love that they're seeming to design elegant classics in comparison. However, I do not like the overly fussy front of the F30 (otherwise love the design), and of course think the 5 GT, F20, and X6 are amongst the ugliest cars.... ever.
