Replica vs. Original wheels
Any feedback on these replica wheels? They are build in China and imported and certified in Europe. Would you feel safe with them driving your BMW fast with your family on board?

I never buy replica because, if you need a new wheel after a year or two, you can not get the same wheel. And BMW says that you lose the warranty on the suspension. And they are not tested as an OEM rim.

I doubt this is true, sounds like a scare tactic from a sales rep wanting to sell you an overpriced OEM wheel. Having a non OEM part on a car doesn't automatically void a cars warranty.

Isn't the word "Replica" supposed to mean it is similar to original BMW wheels?
I didn't see any similar rim to BMW on that page. |

A lot of the replica wheel makers are actually manufacturers for brand name wheels.
If you compare to brand name aftermarket wheels. Those may be lighter, more unique design, made to order, stronger. But a lot more expensive. I think replica wheels are fine as long as they are made by quality manufacturer, certified/tested by certain national standard. Personally, I wouldn't get something like wheels from China. Maybe some small decorative items are ok. Made in Taiwan should be better/ok. |

Unless the dealer/manufacturer can prove that the wheels caused a suspension problem, they cannot just void the warranty.
