Waiting arrival- new 550xi purchase

Hey guys thought I'd introduce myself- just ordered for my wife a 2014 550xi!!! Can't wait to see how the new engine feels. She's coming from a 2011 335 so it'll be an interesting transition. We are going through BMW and trying to get an individual interior (Sakhir orange leather) and haven't heard if its approved yet so unsure when it'll arrive.

My biggest question is do any of you track your cars? We both do BMW hpde's - and are thinking of getting a Dinan suspension and Stage 2 tune to make it more track worthy. We only do 4 track days a year - so not huge junkies yet. Anyone track factory?

Tracking with a F10 (x-drive)?? It is too heavy for it. You would have more fun in a much smaller car like a 1M or Lotus Elise/Exige/Europa type of cars. Also Porsche will do the trick. Personally I think even the M3 is too heavy for it.

Make sure you will add good brakes. Then suspension. Then engine. For me also important is safety; in my case a roll cage and 6 point seatbelts. But I can image that will not really work in a F10

I know...agree with all of the above- it's not a full time track car - just a 2 weekend a year car. I have my M3 and I am a little more serious on the track- she does it for fun. Great idea with the brakes

Congrats. I think Sakhir orange will look great. I don't think you can add stage 2 for the N63tu, the new engine you are gonna get with your 550. Dinan has not developed that yet. But it should be more than enough on its own.
