New F10 535d (LCI)

Hi,

I am about to confirm my order for a LCI F10 535d. Some key features:

Imperial Blue/Amarobrown Individual
M Sport
IAS
Electric bootlid/soft close doors
Surround View
Sunroof
Alcantara headliner
B&O sound
LED headlights

amongst others.

A picture from my dealer's system:

Now my 2 doubts...

Dark wood (top) or light wood (bottom)

#2 are the rims. I will have it delivered on the standard 18" 613M's which I will use for my winter tyres. For summer I am doubting a lot. 356's or 434 M's OEM or perhaps non-OEM. Morr VS8.2 or Breyton GTS. I will go 20" non-RFT.

Holland doesn't really have a non-OEM rims culture. certainly not on the newer cars.

Hope some of you can help me with my doubts

Dark wood looks better with Amarobrown leather.
With the light wood, you'll get two kind of brown, and that doesn't look good.

Since you going with non-RFT, I see no need to go with those heavy OEM rims.

My 20" HRE set is almost 25kg lighter than the 19" 351M set!!

The MORR wil be much lighter than the OEM wheels.

Agree. I have dark wood and it is actually a lot darker than the photos.

Like your choices. I have imperial blue, with Everest Gray and dark wood. Was really leaning towards cinnamon, but decided against it cause my sofas are essentially that color.

I guess the 356's should be light as well.

Will the TPMS work with non-OEM rims?

I had dark wood in my F10 535i. My father has Individual Satin Walnut trim with Nappa Saddle Brown in his F01; that actually looks really nice.

Not sure if you'll need new TPMS sensors or if the ones from the oem wheels will fit. I haven't got TPMS.

I doubt the 356 wil be lighter than other oem wheels.
Her http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/ the 356 wheels are listed at 15,6 kg each, my front 20x9 HRE were 10kg each.

Dark Brown matches better. Lighter wood would go well with Sand Beige leather.

If I were you, I'd quickly opt for shadowline instead of that horrible alu exterior line.

Also a leather dashboard would really compliment the alcantara headliner.

Nice configuration! When is estimated delivery?

Had shadow line before; time for a change

leather dash I love on the F01 but unfortunately on the F10 it is only the dash and not the doors. So there you have a mismatch.

Delivery would be mid august

The MORR VS8.2 would be the ideal choice out of those you listed. Especially if you are comparing them to OEM wheels.

I like the Morr's a lot. Unfortunately in 20" they are standard 9J and 10.5J compared to standard 8.5J and 9J. Anybody experience how that is driving?

It is a daily car and I am driving it trough Amsterdam or Paris in tiny parking garages ed. I don't want to drive with a magnifier in my car

What I mean is that when I am driving in cities like Amsterdam or Paris some of the parking garages are extremely tight. Chance of damaging your rims is quite big.

Great ride Sjoerd!
But come on, M- sport with alu trim is a big no-no. You will regret it.

And get the 356 20". They might be heavy but they look fantastic.

Alu trim I have now on my temp F11 I think it is ok. Having had 3 silver cars with shadow trim in a row it is time for a change

I will never buy M wheels unless it comes with the car. They are way to heavy.
My 18" M wheels with RFT are over 9lbs more than my 20" BC forge with normal tyres.
I saved over 36lbs on all 4 wheels

I know, and mentioned before, I saved over 54lbs going from the 19" m-sport wheels to the 20" HRE.

Guys,

my weekend/track car is a Porsche GT3 so I know my fair bit about weight savings.

The 535d will be my daily car. Very true, lighter rims will improve handling (and more) but then again the F10 will remain a heavy b*itch.

For me important for the rims are the looks and that I can drive relatively fool proof through nasty parking garages. My current temp F11 has standard 17"; really superb in town! But would never drive with them on my own car.

Too me, anything smaller than 19 doesn't look right.

Also, really wish they'd bring back the wagons in the US.
