Do we need star mark tires for our xdrive? I have stagger setup and I use F 245 and R 285 tires. But they are not star mark tires. Will I have problems with this? Thanks

As long as you have a good tire you'll be fine. I'm using Michelin PSS

Are these tires good enough? Yoko S. Drive, Hankook Ventus V12, and Toyo Proxes T1 sports. Thanks...

I've heard good things about the toyo tires. Not sure about the other 2 but I know some people on here are using them or have used them.

sorry to highjack this thread, I'm learning as I go after having read 100+ threads, I also have 550xi, wanting to buy a set of 303M wheels from a friend off his F01. The wheels sizes are F20x9 and R20x10, tires are F245/40/20 & R275/35/20, will I have a "rolling diameter" issue? Also will my speedo be off since most people put F245/35 & R275/30 on 20" wheels??

Staggered Setup

Have you been running the staggered setup you listed below on your 535xi? Does it seem to be ok on your awd system? i have a 528xi that i wanted to run a staggered setup on with the exact tire sizes you had mentioned. Not sure if it's safe and what the rolling diameter difference tolerance is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I just installed my summer set-up on Friday on my 550i Xdrive.
No issues yet. speedo is all good.

245/35/20 tire on a 20 x 9 35 et front
275/30/20 tire on a 20 x 10 35 et rear

i went with 275 since my rear offset is 35, and normally it should be 38.
So i didn't want to take a chance on it rubbing, so 275 was the safer bet.

This is the standard dimension for BMW for 20 "245/35/20 in front and 275/30/20 rear. My wheels and tires are from a 650ix M-sport which has exactly the same offset as the F10. This tire package is recommended.

245/275/285 is only the width of the tire. Not the thickness(40/35/30). I think the difference between thickness of the tires is what's going to make the rotation between front and rear slightly (very small) difference. So going with 275 or 285 in the back will not do anything to the X drive.

Yes would think that, just offset is correct. But ask remmib he is wheel expert.

E60 has a bit lower offset, so you probably need spacers.

Are spacers safe? Do you know what size, kind, and where I can purchase?
