WTB: E39 M5 or F10 550i 6MT
Hey, I'm looking to buy a well-maintained E39 M5 with ~100k miles or well-specced F10 550i 6MT only (auto is not an option). The only thing that's a necessity is heated seats (rear heated seats also in the F10). I'm very open to considering all color options (though I prefer the classic exteriors - AW, TiAg, JB), and I'm willing to drive a decent amount for the right car. Budget varies based on the car and options.
Would also be willing to consider a 6MT F10 535i or M5 for the right price. Last edited by Stealth658; 11-22-2016 at 01:34 PM.. |

I owned and E39 540i M-Sport when I bought my F10 550i M-Sport. Admittedly, the E39 540i was no M5 but I can tell you the F10 550i is just an all around better vehicle. I absolutely loved my E39 and raved it was the best BMW I'd ever owned and I've owned a few over the years but this thing is more fun, more comfortable, more stylish, and just more BMW.
When I got home from the dealership I had to pull the E39 out of the garage to put the new one in and the E39 just felt...old. I still believe the E39 was one of the best cars BMW ever built but the tech, creature comforts, and power these new ones are making is bananas. Drive the E39 M5 then drive the F10 550i, IMO it's not close.

I appreciate the advice! And I'm definitely leaning towards the F10, but I'm really looking for a MT and F10s are so few and far between. Plus there's something about the E39 shape that draws me to it. But having driven the F10 550i, I know exactly what you mean. It's just an amazing driver's car plus all the comforts you could possibly want.

No such thing as a post LCI 6 speed. If you want a 6 speed, you are limited to a pre-LCI car. Good luck.
