Hitting a minor pothole with right rear...
This happened to me a few times - hit a minor pothole with the rear and it seems like the right rear shock is about to blow - I had a rear passenger yesterday and she even remarked if everything was ok with the right rear corner. I'm not sure if the same happens to left rear or perhaps it does and I just hear the drama coming from the right rear side of car.
I do have the Sports package and running 20"s; 285/30 rear rubber.... Anyone else experience this or should I get the rear shocks checked out?

Rmastale. What mods are you doing to your car? I think we should have a little Chicago meet sometime. |

I am experiencing the same thing. And it's the right rear. Just going over railroad tracks too fast can cause the "bang". It's doesn't happen often and the car drives fine otherwise. I keep forgetting to have it checked.

You need to remember where all the potholes are lol..I'll be running 285/30 in a few days as well, hope its not too bad. When you drive normally does it feel as if something is broken?

The car feels 100% fine. Last night I drove over a small lip in the pavement entering a neighborhood. 15mph, right rear bang. The uneven pavement was barely visible. It is really strange.

I have a early model F10 550i with sports package which on the 19"s and goodyear excellence tires did this often, with oem 18 winter tires, never happened. On the new bridgestone 19 which goodyear replaced, this happens rarely now but not consisently over the same road defect. Its like the adaptive drive freaks out making the rears adjust to full hard to keep the car stable. It kinda pisses me off because an m3 would in some instances ride better than my car which is very irritating

Same here, I get a bang like the shock is blown and it makes me go "what the hell was that'! It doesn't happen often at all. Maybe 4 times since Oct 2010. There is one hump in the road where it has happened twice. I don't know when it is going to happen. Hard to replicate but I do know what you mean.
