more specifics???
One thing I can think of...Do you have HD Radio option on? If on fringe of HD reception will jump between HD and standard giving a kind of echo. Turn it off. |

from page 173 of the manual:
"Activating/deactivating digital radio reception 1. "Radio" 2. "FM" or "AM" 3. Open "Options". 4. "HD Radio Reception" The setting is stored for the remote control currently in use. This symbol is displayed in the status line when the audio signal is digital. In areas in which the station is not continuously received in digital mode, the playback switches between analog and digital reception. Due to time delayed broadcasting, there may be repetitions or interruptions. In this case, switch off digital radio reception." HD Digital signals are pretty much all or nothing. Meaning they are good quality or drop out to nothing. If you're in range it's great, on the fringe not worth it. When it's switching back and forth - unpleasant echo kind of sound. |

Anyone have a loud squealing sound in HD? I think it may be in low signal areas when switching from HD to standard, although I am pretty close to Philadelphia. Ear piercing and without warning. Enough to turn HD off entirely, since you never know when you will reach a spot with weak HD.

Do you also find sat radio to be so annoying with the constant drop outs?
With conventional radio a drop out or weak signal will eventually get stronger or weaker but still keep the beat. (no so with hd) But, it is not enough that the satellite radio drops out when going under a bridge or tree. Instead, the satellite radio comes back and the musical beat is actually off. This is so annoying especially if you're a musician. Quote:

This has been brought up before. The the O.P.: do you have tints on your car? If so, they could be interfering with reception.
