Pricing our a 550 for European Delivery

Hi guys

I need some help with pricing out the ideal deal for my 2016 550xi i want to get.

here are the specs:

2016 Space Gray 550xi
-Amaro Brown leather
-Msport
-Executive Package
-Lighting Package
-Piano Black inlays
-Driver Assistance Package
-Cold Weather
-Enhanced USB
-Rear Sunshade
-Night vision

Grand Total of $87,350 with destination ($86,355 w/o)

TrueCar gives me US Invoice of $81,360

Would the ED invoice then be about $75,660 (7% off of $81,360) ?

If so, my deal should look like this:

MSRP: 87350
Selling Price: 75664 (ED price...maybe more for dealer)
Residual: 62%
MF: .00018
CT taxes 6.75%

Am I anywhere close before i start pressing various dealers ?

Thanks!

A couple of notes.
  1. Smart Phone Intergration is $200 for 2016
  2. Most Dealers are going to want at least $800 - $1000 over invoice
  3. Jan 1st - ED Invoice Prices are increasing 2% so you'll need to pickup your car before then

Looking at your numbers I see an invoice price of $75,170 so I'd imagine your dealer should be ok with $76,000 flat.

I show a payment around: $829 including tax with a $1750 drive off.

Assumptions:
  1. I show an MSRP of $86,550 so I'm not sure if you forgot to mention an option or not.
  2. ED money factor should be .0016. I don't know where you're getting .0018 from but that's high.
  3. Estimated 500 License Fees
  4. Estimated 925 Bank Fee

Thanks for the excellent write up

dealer offered $76750 as CAP....i'll push back on that. I had the MF wrong...you are correct about .0016 for ED.

He is showing a residual for 2016 as 60% for 10k. Seems low...64% for 2015 by comparison.

When does my residual get locked in? when i sign for car in Germany (planning for October delivery)? Or when i go to dealership? I assume dealership...maybe residuals go up Sept 1?

You sign the contract about two weeks before you pickup the car in Germany. 60% seems too low. I'd pass on the car at anything lower than 62%. I ran the numbers at 62%. Your payment would be down to $781 if you can get 64%. I'm surprised the 550's have that high of residual. Not sure if that's normal.

yeah the dealer said the 2015s were high at the moment to help move inventory. The base rate for 2016s was 57% then +3% for 10k.

That seems crappy to me. I'll wait until Sept 1 to see what next months rates look like.

In your model, you have a 1750 cap reduction...was that intentional or to accommodate for 1st month and fees etc?

They also marked up the MF a bit to .00175 in their quote. .00160 is the ED base as you mentioned.

Thanks

The 1750 is drive off. 1st month payment + fees and tax. I estimated it would be about this. Depends what the actual doc and licence fees are.

If they are marking up MF I would expect a major reduction in the bank fee. I used the standard 925. If you're going through BMWFS then I wouldn't agree to any markup. Something doesn't sound right with the residual and money factor they're giving you. I’d be checking other dealers.

Here's a 24 month sheet I did for an i3. You'll need to change a couple cells in the Lease Calculation area to make it 36 but otherwise it's the same worksheet.
