F11 rear rattle

Hi

I'm having a problem with a very weird rattle, it sounds like ass if the trunk door was loose and rattling. The weird part is that it comes and goes, last night everything was fine, car silent, than this morning as soon as i start to drive the sound comes on. And like that, i park the car and the sound goes away.

Any f11 users that can point me in the right direction?

Many thanks

Cheers mates

Have you had a look at the triangle/kit cover in the tailgate ?

Thanks for replying, i already checked that. It was I've of the first few things i checked.

Actually i think i found the culprit. Tonight after i parked the car, i went to the rear and pressed all around the trunk door while closed. In the left side i hear a clunk, very similar to my complaint.
Tried to locate to nature of the sound and it was coming from the door stopping rubber area. Put some felt on it and the clunk was gone.

Tomorrow I'll take the f11 for a spin to see if that was indeed the problem. I'll report back.

Cheers

If it is not fixed by your experiment and it is under warranty take it back to BMW to sort out.

the clunk noise seems to have gone but i still find, weather influenced, the back of the F11 should be less creaky/squeaks . After it has been parked in the sun the rear is a squeaks galore.

BMW does nothing, they just say that its all normal or, could not hear it. I've learned in the past that these types of noises it has to be the user fixing it. No one will care for your car as you do .

cheers

Disagree. BMW take rattles and squeaks seriously and you should take it in - my F11 makes no noises at all. I have taken my BMW's to the dealer when I get rattles. They ruin the car until they are sorted out. I'd accept that in a 1970's Allegro but not in a F11....

Completely agree with Shiner's comment. I have had rattles from the dash and squeeks from the trims and everytime BMW has managed to fix and took it seriously on all ocassions.

Yes same here, had a rattle in my first F10. Dealer was empathetic and took them most of the day to track it down.
