"Base variant not determinable, check diagnostic address [G175]"

I have Esys 3.24.3 on my win7 x64 laptop and am attempting to grab information in order to generate a FSC code for a sat nav map.

(I can't use swidreader as I don't have access to a 32 bit OS and this app is known not to work with x86 OS's)

As I haven't actually used this version of esys on my laptop yet It could well be have an issue , I am however just wondering if anyone has seen the following error message and if so what was done to fix it.
If not, then I'll look to reinstall at some point.

So I connect to the car (and confirm that I do)
So I log into FSC-Extended
Diagnostic address is 0x63
Base variant is HU_CIC
Application ID is 0x1b
Upgrade index is 0x1

When I click on Identify I get the error message "Base variant not determinable, check diagnostic address [G175]"

pretty sure those values are correct for 2012 model with CIC and upgrading for the 2015-2 European Premium.

Anyone seen this before by any chance?

if I get past this I should be able to generate the activation code.

So... try this if you arent doing this laready,

1) Enter Diagnostic Address= 0x63
2) Click on the Identity button and the Base Variant should autofill
3) Application ID=0x1B
4) Upgrade Index= 0x1

Let me know how it goes.....

Thanks,
Yes I've tried that already, in fact that's the first thing I tried. When I clicked on identify, I got the message. That's why I tried just manually typing in the value of HU_CIC.

Not sure what it might be other than something not being right with eye in some way.

Frustrating as the steps required to generate the file for the FSC code seem quite straight forward.
