Anyone have a nav that continues after destination is reached?
I've searched the forums and have had little luck with a solution. When I use my Nav and reach the destination, it'll end but the arrows and miles to destination won't go away. It's on my HUD until I shut the car down for a long period. Even shutting it down and starting it within minutes doesn't turn it off. Most of the time, I have to drive home (from my destination) with the annoying arrow pointing me back. I tried pressing 'End nav' on my Idrive but it doesn't do anything. Just curious to see if anyone else has this issue. Car is a 640 GC (GC forum is pretty slow). My last car 5-GT, wife's last car F10 and wife's current car X5, all don't have this problem.

Not yet but I'll definitely do it. From BMW's website, the update only includes bluetooth stuff but hopefully there's a cure.
BTW, did you get to toy around with your M5 exhaust to make it a bit louder? I emailed exhaustmeister regarding installing a valve controller on a N55 and they gave me details on how it can be done. Parts alone are around $50 + exhaustmeister cost. The only thing is you have to run a vacuum tube from engine to rear of car, which sounds like a pain. |

I have an X Pipe in place of the resonator and it's perfect right now. I have a catless VRSF downpipe waiting to be installed after my last service visit, so that should be plenty loud enough without causing any drone. |

....or when you press 'end' navigation? But it doesn't. It's not a feature but more like a glitche. Just wondering if there's a cure. Strange that it doesnt happen in all F10s.

maybe but it just shows an arrow which does nothing in a metropolitan area. also when I tell it to end navigation it still tries to take me back to the destination. if I say end it should end.

I've had this 'glitch' for ages too, but I no longer use the nav. One thing I came across and tried is possibly resetting idrive whenever this occurs? You can quickly reset by holding down the volume control knob for around 25secs, I tried this out by setting a destination down the road, and as expected the arrow continued pointing after I reached the destination, but I held the volume control knob down and it worked. It's a good work around especially when you're on the move and don't have time to let the car system fully shut down. That arrow pointing to the distance from the destination is super annoying, because I want to see my digital speed instead!
Does this work for others possibly? |
