Dealership did not put back coolant cap

I bought a '10 535i yesterday from a dealership. I drove home with a huge grin on my face, though half-way a warning came on for low coolant level.

Then I pulled into a gas station to get gas. It was a serviced station and when I'm finished the assistant there makes a comment on how my car is leaking something.
And indeed there's a large pool of coolant under the car.
I drove home, popped the hood and the coolant cap was not on.
The car probably did not overheat or throw other errors, coolant temp was halfway, 120C or 248F.

When the car is cooled down I will top up with distilled water.

How can I be sure there is no damage caused, and if there are, what are the symptoms?

Take it back to the dealer ASAP and have them get it inspected.

You would of had temperature warnings first, before damage.
+1 on the above.

2010 535i is an E60, not F10.

Neither car have a coolant temperature gauge.

Refill the coolant system once its reached ambient, run the bleed procedure with the electric water pump, and put a cap on the tank.

Thanks for all the help.
The car is indeed an F10.

Would there be a temp warning before damage occurs?

Yes, there will be a yellow warning followed by a very urgent red warning recommending you pull off the road and turn the engine off already.

My previous car was a 2010 535, which was an E60. 2011+ was the F10. Pics of said car along with build sticker?
