Are you set on a 550? You can get a nicely equip and lower mileage 535 and have plenty of money for mods.

I'm not set on a 550. But I am set that I don't want a 528 for sure.

I would avoid a pre-facelift 550 (N63). The TU engines are fine - but even there, owning it well after warranty has the potential to be very expensive. I've kept a few of my previous inline-6 BMWs from new through 90k - 125k miles, and they were relatively bullet-proof (even the dreaded N54 - never had turbo or wastegate problems). But the V8s? Those shouldn't be owned post-warranty unless the car is paid-off and just all gravy.

And this one has EDC (you can adjust the suspension from Comfort to Sport) and power sunshades. OP, this may be a good move, you should look into this one.

Let's not forget about the hunt for a f10
So

I found a 535i no x drive BUT it's a MT.....

As always I value the opinion on here greatly
And I schedualed an a appointment for tomorrow 4:30
Miles are low so my question is
Would this still be under warranty?
Also I'm not done parting out my maxima so should I just purchase this separate ?
And have two cars for a extra month or so? Then give away the maxima ?
The trade in value is what it's worth about 8-10k

-Can anyone tell what package this has ?

Looks to be very loaded. Running the VIN came up with the following options:

Comfort Access
Soft close doors
Auto trunk opening/closing
Backup camera
Rear sun blinds
Comfort seats
Seat heating front and rear
4 zone auto climate control
PDC
Xenon adaptive lights
Lane departure warning
Lane change warning
Park assistant
Navigation
Heads Up Display
Professional High Fi System
Rear seat entertainment system
Night vision

According to the VIN, the car initially was Black Sapphire Metallic and came with Venetian Beige interior, so it looks like they painted/wrapped the exterior and changed the interior. If it was me, I would be extremely leery of this car since its been heavily modded.

Here is my advice to you as some others stated.

Your budget is not within the range of a clean, stock, no stories F10 that posibbly have a warranty or a CPO.

My recommendation is to look for a very clean E90 or a F30.

Pretty much all the cars that you are posting are shady and will most likely give you all sorts of trouble down the road.

I would not buy a modded or out of warranty BMW PERIOD.

Having said all of that the car in below link is worth a look as it was a one owner lease vehicle.

This. Or you can buy a new '16 for about $10K off sticker.

Just wondering...You said since this car has been heavily modding you would be leery of this car. Why is that? By looking at the car the previous owner took really good care of the car. It has very low millage (less than 8K a year average) and if he was a member of this forum and had posted pictures of this car most member would say nothing but nice things about all of his mods. And that they are tastefully done.

Me personally, although I like looking at all the modded cars on the forum I wouldn't get it because I'm not into modding my cars. Although I did change out the kidney grills and side markers, but to the average person that's not a BMW enthusiast they would have no clue that I changed anything on the car.

Are you saying that people that mod their cars don't take care of the car mechanically? Because then you would be talking about pretty much everybody in this forum. And please don't take my questions the wrong way because that seems to happen in forums from time to time. Anyways just curious as to why you say stay away from this one.

I personally have nothing against modding and I think it's great that people personalize their cars. Buying a car that's been heavily modded is a big risk. Were the mods done professionally or by the owner? Did the owner cheap out on mods or get the best? And modifications to the engine are the biggest risk since they place added stress on the engine which will affect the reliability and longevity of the engine.

Modding is great, but what I stated above is why I personally would steer clear of a heavily modded car, it's just too much financial risk.

personally, I would never do business with this small local dealers. They are in business to rip people off. Look at Hillside Motors reviews.

Keep looking.

Ok now I see where you're coming from. Very good points! A potential buyer really doesn't know the quality of the products or who did the install the owner or a professional; which usually make a big difference.

With that being said I wonder if the price of this car is too high or not. I wonder if they priced is based on the mods while not really knowing the true cost of all the mods.

I'm coming from a long history e38 750il & 740il. I did all the work myself. Now I have 2011 550 xdrive with 64k still has warranty until Feb. I'm still learning about the car but so far it seems no more troublesome then my e38. The big difference being that the e38 community has dissected the e38 so its easy to find solutions to any problem. I believe the n63 is getting there and the cheaper they become the more people will collective come together to keep these monsters on the road well pass 100k.

Unless you love turning wrenches or don't care about throwing gobs of money at a rapidly depreciating asset, I would not own a turbo BMW outside of warranty.

I bought my 550i still under CPO and I've had around $4,000-$5,000 in covered repairs since buying it less than two years ago. I'm sure there's much more fun on the horizon.

Do yourself a favor and finance the purchase through Penfed so you can get a Route66 warranty.

Unfortunately, this is not the case for the F10. They were "giving them away" back in August/September but not really so much anymore. The holiday cash doesn't apply to the '16 5 series (according to the bmwusa website). Back in August, BMWNA had dealer cash and crazy good residuals. It wasn't unusual to get $12K+ off a 70K 535.

Hey f10 gentlemen
So it's taking longer then expected to finish parting out my maxima
And I been on and off looking at f10s
Or lease a red sport q50

I have found a few f10s but this one is catching my eye
I'm not to crazy on miles being high it don't bug me if it won't break down on me
If you want the most reliable F10 model, go for a 2011 528i. N52, RWD only. solid. stay away from Xdrive in general - its useless. A 535i is also solid albeit will be a bit less reliable then the 11 528i in the long run
