I’ve read many posts on the forum which talked about how software updates will fix/improve steering and acceleration feel. Are we talking about an ECU software update or iDrive update? I’ve done the iDrive update myself and didn’t notice any difference, if it’s an ECU update, where do I get it just ask the dealer? My car is in service today.

P.S. I drive a 2013 528i xDrive

I would imagine you're talking about an ECU update if you're looking for changes to the way acceleration, steering, or other mechanics of the engine/driving work. I would think that the iDrive updates are limited to the systems they control - largely infotainment.
