Hi guys I was hoping somebody in this forum might have encounter or fix a similar issue to what I’m facing.

Recently I got a 535i and did all this wear and tear fixes.

Valve Cover Set BMW
Timing Chain Set BMW
Camshaft Sprocket x 2 BMW
Oil Pump Chain Set BMW
Oil Pressure Valve BMW
Valvetronic Sensor BMW
Solenoid Switch O-Ring x 4 BMW
Mickey Hose BMW
Main Seal + Cover BMW
Front And Middle Undercarriage Cover BMW
Fan Belt and Fan Tensioner Set OEM
Suction Door Soft Close Motor OEM
Rear Differential Oil
Ignition Coils eldor and ngk -2 step colder plugs
Turbo Oil Return Pipe
Coolant Tank
Coolant Tank Cap
Oil Filter Housing & Oil Cooler Gasket
Oil Sump Gasket with Screw Set + 8L Monsil Pure Boost 5W40 Engine Oil with Filter
Transmission Oil and Oil Pan
Rear Differential Oil

Current running on bootmod stage 2 93 octane mapping.

So basically what I’m encounter now is that when I’m on neutral gear and I step on the accelerator slowly when needle hits 2000rpm - 2500rpm I get a some sort of engine knocking sound. Like something came lose, but when driving everything is smooth no problems whatsoever. Also after excessive heavy driving we talking about sports + mode and lots of high rpm’s from 0-100 the engine will shut down when the car comes to a complete stop only at a complete stop but amazingly no fault code or error code comes with it and I just start the engine again and I can start driving, engine is flawless for daily driving btw it doesnt die on me.

I have a video of it and will post it here for you guys to take a look. Hoping somebody can shed some light.

Cheers.

Did it do it before you replaced the timing chain? I'm not a mechanic, but it sounds a bit like timing chain slap to me.

In that case, I really suspect the timing chain.
