Not sure if it would work. it would be nice for a company to make one for the 535 but no ones has done it yet. I'm realllly interested in purchasing one too.

Im tempted to try - the injen kit replaces all of the piping, all the way to the cone element. I assume the piping connection has to be same size (it is still an N55 at the end of the day)....

True - the intake is different. But my point was that the injen replaces all of that piping. Im debating if the source connection point is the same size or not.

I had that set up on my 335i and to be honest, when the engine gets hot, you really suck up alot of hot air from the compartment. I am waiting for something a little more forward and something that seals the cone off a little better.

I agree. It sits open and draws all the heat in from around the engine. I want one too. But, would prefer to wait for a better design.

Burger CAI - Dyno'd??

Seen this?: http://burgertuning.com/N55_BMW_Performance_intake.html

It doesn't list our F10 535i / 535i xdrive, but I'm gonna assume it works on our car unless someone corrects me.

I agree with the heat comments above, but has anyone looked into this or spoken with Terry at Burger about a dyno on this?

Trying to see if it's worth it...

Pretty sure that doesn't fit because if you look at the engine/intake covers they are different in the F10 compared to the 135/335.

The only one that looks like it could possibly fit is the one from INJEN if we don't use the full intake and just use the last section but wouldn't know for sure unless someone test it out. Injen is in cali so it would be easy for someone local to drop by to see if it would work. I'm not about to drop 3-400 on it just so it doesn't fit.

Indeed not,
Also the current intake still sucks the same temperature air as any replacement would, but the benefit is from MORE air being sucked in at a faster rate over stock.
That being said, the HP gains would be minimum if any at all. I'd still like one though

I am only interested in one for the sound and don't expect any measurable HP gains. When i removed my air box to install the JB4, i started the car up and the car sounded aggressive and had a blow off valve noise to it.

Great Mods BTW!

FUNNY! I noticed the same thing when I installed my JB4 S1….it sounded pretty good and got me thinking, first thing I did was get in the car to see if I could hear it and second I closed the hood both while the airbox cover was off and the filter removed.

You could hear it a little while inside the car, when the hood was both open and closed, but you couldn’t really hear it outside of the car (hood down). Just thought you’d like to know.

I even tried an experiment by not tightening the torx screws completely down on the airbox cover …LOL.. it didn’t work for any noticeable sound improvement.

For now the drop-in K&N filter is what’s next (JB4 S2 is in the mail on the way…*drooling*)

How did you hook. Up your S2 my 2011 535i F10 did not have the CANBUS located on the left Side of the engine. Is there another location that I can run wires too?

Actually, this is very accurate info. Oiled air filters have definitely been known to coat the wire in the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor in oil, resulting in all kinds of screwed up operations. Definitely be very careful when oiling the filter. Don use too much and let it dry completely.

Oh, and these things add zero hp by the way, but they do sound good.
