I miss halogen turn signals.

While LED is the future for many practical reasons, but I miss the in and out fade of blinking halogens. I wish they programed LEDs to pulse instead.

I've found that the LED blinkers on the F10 are ridiculously bright. I can literally light up street signs 300 feet away at night with each blink. I often wonder what onlookers must think when they see street signs pulsing yellow from my blinker.

Ha- some of us were bummed that BMW decided to make halogen turn signals standard in the 2014 5 series (wihout LED package). Maybe there was some truth to a line in their technical training manual citing the reason as the "LED signals being too bright".

I think because they don't have that analog fade in and fade out, they stay at their brightest mode the entire time in the "on" position.

God forbid, you might actually get their attention.

I suppose this thread was started to prove to the nay-sayers that BMW drivers do use their indicators...

I guess I'm simply not used to a turn signal being so distracting. The 100% on then 100% off is the dead giveaway that it's an LED emitter.

Theres no way id go back to halogens having changed many many halogen bulbs in tiny little cramped spaces. It's just something Id like to see improved with led.

LEDs are dimmable, there need to be a dimming circuitry for it. I think the reason why BMW didnt design a dimming circuit for the signal lights is that turn signals are suppose to draw attention, they are not suppose to be soothing to the eyes. A sharp on off light pattern will emphasize the signal light much more.

No way, that's what I like about the LED turn signals, no fase in and out.

Agreed. The halogens seem cheapo in comparison.
