The inside of my cluster has a condensation stain on it. Can anyone tell me how to remove the cluster and get to the inside of the glass to clean it (2012 550iX)?
Thanks, Marcus |

Wiggle out the cluster, disconnect harness. Remove 4x T10 screws on the back, disengage the plastic retaining clips that connect the front of the plastic shield to the cluster. It should slide right off. Be careful with what you use to clean the plastic, it scratches easily |

If it's just condensation marks I'd run it under a warm tap, maybe spray some soapy water into it and that's it, no agitation or only with a really soft lint free cloth, definitely no scrubbing! Then let it air dry

Yes you can keep the battery connected, just be very very gentle!!! Don't force anything. Maybe even wear latex/nitrile gloves so you don't get anything oily. I think someone spilled coffee allllllllllll over my parent's interior. I even had to disassemble the iDrive controller and the traction control/driving mode buttons. The coffee would stick the traction control button down and then you wouldn't be able to select between driving modes. There was a tiny bit on the bottom left side by the gas gauge, so I had to wipe the inside of the lens and even on the cluster itself. Just be VERY gentle, even with a brand new quality microfiber I put very small scratches in it (nothing noticeable and it was still a net gain over the splash marks)
