February/March 2014 Lease Rates

Anyone know the lease rates for this month and/or next month? Historically speaking, is it true that March-May are the best months to order a 5 series due to new production starting in July?

Feb lease terms

You can find the residual if you look at the fine print on the lease offer tab ("2014 Lease Offer") found by clicking the "Special Offers" link on each model's website.

For example, you can see the "Special Offers" link on the left hand side of the following link for the 550ix:

http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...n/default.aspx

For February, the residual for the 550ix is 63% if you take a 36 month lease with 10k mi/year. The residual is 1% lower if you take 12k mi/year and 3% lower if you take 15k mi/year.

As far as I know, the money factor is 0.0013 across the board.

I am not sure if the terms for March onwards will be the same or lower. I think that the terms for February were so good that I jumped on a deal this weekend just in case the terms get worse next month.

Hope this helps.

One more thing...

You can usually get your dealership to let you take advantage of better lease terms in case they improve before you take delivery…

If you are willing to take delivery in Southern California, I know you can get a 550ix with 63% residual and 0.0013 MF at around $750 below invoice easily - this estimate takes advantage of the $500 Olympic credit and the $1000 Option credit being offered by BMWFS in February.

You can bring the 0.0013 money factor down to 0.00081 if you put down 7 multiple security deposits. That is what I did for my order.

PM me if you need more information.

Did that and nowhere do I see a residual "listed"... or are you figuring the residual by calculating what their posted numbers are "backwards" and using the ride with G calculator and "assuming" paying MSRP I got a residual of 63% and a MF of 0.000882 ...i just i didnt have to do so much guessing as when people post the residual and money factors.... ::

I should have been more clear in my post. Here are the two relevant sentences from the fine print:

"Purchase option at lease end for $44,998.00 excludes taxes."

"Monthly Lease payments of $679.00 for 36 months based on MSRP of $71,425.00."

Divide $44998 by $71425 to get the 63%.

The lease offer from BMW's website does not allow you to calculate the money factor -- too many unknowns. I do know that the Feb money factor is 0.00130 for most of the 5 series models and likely other models as well.

I hope this helps...

The MF is easily determined or verified by using the finance rate on the special purchase offers as a guide.

.00130 x 2400 =3.12% which is about the same as the 3.19% offered for financing.

Interesting…in some cases in the past that has not been true - for example, when the financing rates are low like 0.9%, etc.

If they were offering .9% on a purchase I'd be after them to match that rate on a lease.
