Forget iPhone.. Net HTC One work perfectly
I was tired of waiting for apple to get their act together around Bluetooth, I bought a HTC One. I paired it with my BMW and bang!
Full office integration - email, TXT, Contact with pictures. It reads all your emails, not just the one that got in after you paired your phone, and it will get all your TXT on your SIM car and they are all classified correctly under email or TXT. THis is without any third party application, the phone is not rooted, just straight out of the box! so long apple... I just wish I could get the BMW Remote app and my life would be perfect!

Sounds like the HTC, probably running JB (JellyBean), has better office (email, txt, etc) features than other Android phones running ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich). I just brought my Motoorola Bionic up on JB but haven't had time to see if I've added email etc. txt come over fine and contacts are complete (but without images - fine for me).
As for the BMW Remote, there is a file you can use to add the BMW Remote on an Android device. google for it ... I downloaded it to my PC and sent it to an email account on my phone - ran it and have it running just fine. Next step will be to see if BMW Apps for Android are enabled soon - July 1st I hear.

Good to know...I will be renewing my VZW contract and I was debating to get an iPhone vs HTC vs Droid... And how it integrates with the F10 would be a big factor.

You can use the BMW remote app on android. I had to download it elsewhere and install it manually on the phone but it does work.
I had a suspicion that the HTC one would work after a guy on XDA mentioned that there is a bluetooth MAP on/off on the device but he couldn't test because he didn't have a BMW nearby. All of this is a shame since I just got the iphone 5 on tmo and had to jailbreak it in order to get the broken email/sms. Does the HTC one load up all your previous emails like the BlackBerry Z10? If so I may end up returning my iphone for it. |

Also, with the iPhone, emails and TXT are all stored in the same folder (TXT folder) where with the HTC they are separated like it is suppose to. I too bough an iPhone 5 just for the integration with BMW and after waiting so long, I decided to try an android. No special software, no special configuration straight out of the box, everything works

This makes me really conflicted on what to do. On one hand I like the smoothness of IOS and the apps but on the other hand I want this to work out of the box without issues as I had to JB to get even this working.

I have a One too. Only the native mail application seems to work. But the native can also show Gmail accounts. Will check.
Update: Yes, it will show Gmail in the native app and in Office! Last edited by Mobileum; 05-08-2013 at 03:57 PM.. |

I've got an older HTC thunderbolt and my email and text messages work fine. Then again, i think it's listed on BMW's website as a compatible phone.

Yeah, I've been looking all over the Internet and have had no luck finding the app for my Android phone. Anyone with a link that works?

Right, Ive just tried this using the HTC ONE XL.. I have the latest upgrade and it dont work. Perhaps you could share the exact model number of your phone and its software versiion? Also your bluetooth version. The one is not listed as a compatible phone. I tried the imap settings in the blutooth permissions and still no good. HTC ONEs come in many versions.
