Current Version?

Can anyone tell me the most up to date version of software for a 2011 US spec vehicle is? The BMW site says UPD01006. Is that correct? It has not been updated since iOS 6? No wonder I have so many issues!!!!

Hi SonicEndevaour

Can you please kindly share the file again, looks like BMW site has taken the download link off as when I enter my VIN number for a 525d F10, it comes as no update available.

This is a thread from 6 years ago...

It's also quite possible your car doesn't support USB updates.

That's a 7 year old update and there have been several updates since then. I would trust the BMW Update site to tell you if any updates apply to your car.
Here's the file if you want to try it.

Hi.. the same thing happened to me when I checked for any updates through https://www.bmw.com/en/footer/software-updates.html

I'm just wondering why it says "Congratulations, the software of your BMW is up to date. There are no actions necessary.". As far as I know, my car has not been into any updates or something for quite some times.

Thanks

Hi everyone! I'm kind of a newbie in the BMW world, I just got an 2011 F10 520d, and I'm trying to get up to speed with all this.

When I enter my VIN number on BMW website for software update, I get this message: "An error has occurred. Please try again later." Does anyone have any idea of what it means? Is my car too old for an update? What should I do?

The latest update for my 2013 F10 535 is UPD05021.bin, which was released 7 years or so ago. This is for idrive/phone/media.
Map updates are released 2-3 times a year, which you can get from BMW or other vendors for a fee or something. My last update was mid 2021.
No, it’s not like Tesla where you get frequent free updates with new functionality and games. One update even gave a few percent extra horsepower.
