Need help troubleshooting: iDrive dead
Hi, as some of you may know I recently took on a project to restore a flood damaged f10, well I received the car a week ago, I have been working on the car, I replaced the fuel management module and the car stared up right away everything is working normal... all power function are working.
unfortunately Im not getting any responds from the iDrive, no screen. Water did get to the trunk, killed the amplifier. I did check all the fuse, took out the CIC, there is was a 15amp fuse near the wire harness, but it wasn't blown so all powers are following through, checked it with a fuse tester. I could hear the CIC turn on but its not showing anything on the screen. What should I do? should I replace the CIC, or should I replace the amp first? could the amp cause the CIC not to work? or should I replace the CIC first? will the screen show some life or a BMW logo if the CIC was good altho I have the amp removed? Any advice on how I can approach this?
