Still working with the dealer to find a fix.

The third time (2 weeks ago), BMW decided that the "Throttle Adaptation Reset" - which they did on my first visit (in December 2010) - wasn't actually done the proper way. They said the proper way would be do the throttle Reset again with a full "Transmission Adaptation Reset" as well. This involves resetting the values of the "Transmission Pressure Valves".

BMW did this, and when I got the car back last week it was sluggish the first two days. But then it started adapting quickly. Before the week was over the throttle was very responsive and the shifting was very smooth at all speeds.

My F10's hesitation and jerking problems are now solved!.

I give 100% of the credit to the Manager of my local BMW service center. He took on my issue personally and made it his highest priority, and didn't rest till he got it fixed.

Decaf,

How long ago did you do this type of reset?
and how long did it last before the problem came back?

The reason I felt it's different this time... is becuase when i got it back it had the problem, but then started to adapt slowly, day by day... and by the end of the week i started feeling the good responsiveness and the smooth shifting.

anyway, i'll post and update in a few weeks.

Duneman, I just got my car back from the dealer. They have done the same throttle and transmission resets to my car too. They told me the same thing, car will be sluggish for a few days and will adapt quickly. I am also testing my car for the coming few days.

Cheers,
Not so good. It sarted to be sluggish again. Maybe there's no real fix for this issue from BMW - yet.

Some forum members said that they repalced the gearbox and it solved the problem for good.

I guess "sluggish" in D mode is ok, M/S mode might help ....

Is there any jerking left on low speeds in D mode??

Yeah, it jerks again. And my wife complained saying that I have bad driving skill.

Different from others, mine only jerks on sport mode. Normal mode is very smooth. So I only use sport mode when I drive alone to avoid the compliant.

I remembered my car jerks less after more miles. May be just wait and see. See if it learns all over again after the softwares re-loaded.
