► APEX - Let’s Make APEX 19” SM-10 and FL-5’s a Reality.

UPDATE 8/21

Thank you everyone for your participation. Based on your feedback, we are excited to announce that our 19” SM-10 wheels have entered into production. Our initial launch will include our most popular sizes, with additional supporting fitments arriving 2019. Sample wheels are here in real life, and they're looking amazing. We have planned on-car photos to be taken in the coming weeks, and look forward to updating the community with a real world example of what these wheels will look like mounted on various chassis.

These wheels showcase new features never before seen on our 19” wheels (see images below):
  1. Popular 10 spoke design
  2. Deep I-beam milling
  3. Knurled Bead
In addition, we decided to take it up a notch by beefing up the spokes and front lip, resulting in an increased load rating of 1650 lbs per wheel. Larger diameter wheels commonly found on heavier chassis are more susceptible to damage, therefore extra measures were taken to ensure your 19” wheels are better equipped to fight off added stress introduced by potholes, race track berms and other imperfections in the road surface.

These wheels are now available through our group buy here.

Only in 19's? How about 20's and 21's? Also, will you be able to do custom offsets?

Our original release for these wheels as only in 18" diameters. Next year we plan on releasing new 19" fitments. No plans just yet for 20's or 21's, but it may be something we consider if we receive enough demand. We would not be able to do one-off custom offsets, but if we see enough demand for a specific fitment, we would definitely consider producing it

No concrete plans just yet, but as mentioned above, it is definitely something we would consider based on demand.

APEX has always specialized in light weight, strong and affordable wheels for street and track. As BMW's do get bigger, we will adapt with future productions. With that said, our demand for 19" track wheels is still the minority, but we do recognize a need for them. The demand for 20" APEX wheels is quite low so that is why there are no plans just yet.

Thank you for your response, and feel free to let me know if you hae any other questions!

I looked at apex wheels when I was looking to upgrade from my stock 19" m sport wheels. Apex didnt get my business because you didnt offer a 20" apex arc-8. I understand its a racing wheel but your missing out on a huge part of the market by not offering a 20" wheel, Not everyone who buys a race wheel goes to the track. You might sell a lot of 18's and 19' because its your customers only option not because its preferred. I ended up with some lightwieght forgestar wheels.

We definitely appreciate the feedback you have given We take an effort to analyze the market constantly and adapt when needed. If demand for 20" APEX wheels does increase in the future we would consider that route. I do thank you for your consideration however, and hope to earn your business in the future.

also keep in mind alot of us enter car shows and alot of the aftermarket parts we buy are all race inspired and the cosmetics for the car are purely for aesthetics but really, how often do we take our car to the track? 19's just look too small on the F10 platform. Being a really active member on this forum for quite sometime now i don't ever really see any members who are full on track guys. alot of us are guys who just like to modify our cars, enter car shows and the occasional monthly Cars and Coffee meets.

Most buyer want 19" or 20" wheels. 18" are too small for most cars now.

We definitely appreciate all the feedback! We are a very community based company, but do cater to many BMW chassis's. Currently the overall demand for 20" wheels is quite small, but 19's are on the ride. If we do see the demand increase heavily for 20" wheels, it's definitely something we will consider

These are actually super nice but really 19 only. Your putting up pictures of an m3 put a picture of them on f-10. I honestly think 20s are too small 21s look the best on f-10 just not enough tire for jersey streets but def not 19s.

19's from what I've seen in the M3/M4 boards are the common size to go with. Get some 20's designed for F10 platform and you'll get some interest. I only hear 19's when were talking winter shows

Thanks for the posts! We totally understand that the wheels will look quite different on the larger F10 than on an F31, we just wanted to share our renders to give a more realistic idea of how the wheels will look in person.

We design our wheels primarily to maximize performance for track use, while still providing a clean aesthetic look when used on the street. For that reason, we typically prefer the smaller 19" diameter for its lighter weight, especially when compared to the OEM wheels.

With both cars and brake systems getting larger and larger, it is very possible that a 20" APEX wheel may exist in the future. Keep the replies & feedback coming, and we will definitely take the 20" wheel demand into account when planning our future releases.

Thanks!

Looks good NOC! but Apex should've been able to give you some better offsets without running those big spacers.

The 19x8.5" ET35 and 19x9.5" ET33 is recommended as a direct fit. Spacers can be used for an aggressive setup, but we will be doing additional testing of our lower offset wheels and how they will fit on the F10
