Spring comparison (Dinan vs ACS)

I'm getting ready to purchase springs for my new to me 2011 550xi M-sport. Has anyone driven the Dinan and ACS back to back? I'm curious if the major difference is the drop or if the are truly different spring rates, etc.

I'd like to have the ACS drop, but when I add 20 or 21" wheels, I'd rather the ride not be like my 996 Turbo on PSS9 track settings. How did you all decide what to buy?

I have not tried Dinan springs, but I can say the ACS springs are awesome! They are not harsh and wont destroy your kidneys like your other cars did! I love the drop(Vossen 20s) and it handles great. I would highly recommend ACS!

+1 on ACS . I have them and love the. Fantastic ride and handles so much more better. I believe the Dinan springs are similar to the msport springs. Car will still sit pretty high.

I have ACS as well and I think they are awesome especially if your F10 has ARS

Since I have the M-sport already, does that mean zero drop with the Dinan? Guess I'm kinda leaning towards Dinan so that I can get my badge after tune and exhaust.

Hunter, since your roads are as $hitty as mine, you still think the ride will pass the wife test? Hard to judge when you can't drive 'em

I replaced the springs and shocks in my Audi S5 and regretted it, but I think that was more a function of the Bilstein HD's than the H&R's I put on.

Our roads in Colorado suck!(we do have some awesome roads, but alot of them are bad) And my wife loves the ride! We had E60 M5 previous to this with H&R and it was horrible for every day driving, if we made a 4-7 hour road trip you were beat up by the end.. With the F10 the stock springs were mushy and "cadillac ish" The ACS give it a nice drop and firm the car up alot! But still is very plush! We have driven to Vegas several times (7 Hours) and feel great after. Hope that helps!Jim
