I have been driving the M5 more lately, the turbos really like the cooler weather!

I am leaning toward waiting for the spring to tune the car. With the kind of winters we get, it makes sense.

No need to wait for a tune because a BMS is plug and play. I literally spent just 5 minutes with a socket wrench and a needle nose unhooking the BMS S1 before taking my car to get serviced. Will put it back in once I get back.

And BMWNA won't cover it either.

fuel injectors and fuses. Also one of my batteries needs to replaced soon, and that is like $650, which is totally on my end since I run laser protection stuff and use the battery rather heavily.

$5295 for the fuel injectors and fuses, and coils? $300 to recode the car brings it to $5600 and then the battery brings it right to $6300.

I called BMW NA and the bitch straight up said there is no recall so no. I filed a BBB complaint so we shall see what happens.

The failure rate on fuel injectors on the 50i is ludicrously high, how the hell does BMW get away not initiating a recall for them?

Damn, sorry man. It probably wouldn't do any good to bring it to the BMW of Lincoln at this point. It seems like they should at least give you some kind of goodwill discount.

It's going to cost the same no matter where. Either way I'll be pressuring BMWNA to pick up the $5595 of the bill.

Yeah, I hope you get that resolved. That's been a known issue with the car since it was released in 2011. I've already had mine fixed thankfully.

Same here.

I agree that BMW NA should step up and goodwill this item, especially since they have a Technical Service Bulletin related to this problem, and have been repairing customer cars within warranty without reservation.

Included below is a screen grab from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website (http://www.safercar.gov/Vehicle+Owners) regarding this issue plaguing 5 series owners.

I encourage you to take your F10 to your local dealership, ask your service advisor to pull this TSB, and explain why they won't address this obvious safety concern for a loyal customer...

Hope this helps.

Already at the dealership. I'll be picking up the car on Friday. I don't think the dealership should take a cut since they did the work. BMW NA is the one that should be footing the bill. I'll pay the amount now and then deal with BMW NA afterwards.

And my car is STILL NOT READY. They say they have run the program for the past 2 hours and need to keep the car overnight. I literally lost my head on the phone with the SA. First, you charge me a shit-ton money and you keep my car for 2 days longer than you said you would. I specifically told him, I need it back by thursday at the latest. What do you know. No car today. I will have to wait till Friday afternoon. Such morons.

Speaking of which, is it safe to run a BMS tune? I find it suspicious my injectors blew within such a short time of putting in the BMW N63 tune. @badblack550xi should probably know the answer to this question.... ?

Been running it for 24k miles on 2013 model no issues... If you have an older model they are known for issues with injectors.
