Drivetrain Malf (P052D) ?
Hey guys, lately i've been getting a Drivetrain malfunction, quite annoying, i've had it happen before, i just shut the car off and start again and usually goes away, but this morning it was more annoying and wouldnt go away.
I always let my car do itself the few seconds of high reving when cold starting, then I shift it. The code is "P052D" and it reads. Cold Start Camshaft Position Timing Over-Retarded (Bank 2) I searched and nothing came up, does anyone have any idea what it could be ? Maybe a sensor or something ?

I was just mentioning in another thread going on right now that I've experienced similar to what your explaining. For me the fix was cleaning the vanos, but that was on my e90.
(This is the one the fixed my problem) http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=486201 And http://5series.net/forums/diy-do-you...enoids-118718/

Ha that was poorly, written my bad lol, early in the morning at work.
What I meant to say is that I do have a 3rd party warranty. But the Malfunction goes away after i restart the car, so Im not sure I can make it to the dealer in time for them to see the code. the code usually disappears after 3 restarts as well. I guess next time if it happens and im able to make it quickly to the dealer thats what i'll be doing
