Reprogramming codes

Has anyone tried reprogramming the F10/11? I'd like to get a cable, software, code list and reprogram a few features. I've looked around on this and a few other forums but can't find the right info.

Thanks in advance.

What did you have in mind for "reprogramming"?

I did not take the satnav option, but I wonder whether this functionality is then disabled through the software, and that the hardware components (gps antenna) are actually installed? hence, could this option be "activated" through a reprogramming?

I want to change some settings that are enabled inabled in othe locations such as:
  1. close windows/roof with remote;
  2. close trunk with remote;
  3. unlock doors when park is engaged or engine shut off;
  4. fold mirrors on remote lock;
  5. add digital speed to information panel;
  6. instantaneous MPG displays;
  7. change default screen to "Current Office" when selecting Office rather than "Contacts" (don't know if this can be done, and yes, I know I set a shortcut to it).

1. this is possible already (but you have to keep pushing the "close" button; do you want it "one-click" action by default?)
4. same

On NA vehicles (as other countries) just continue to hold the unlock button down and they will open, including the sunroof.

My CA says that all cars with the screens have the NAV hardware installed and that all it takes is a code to unlock it. I questioned him and he stood by it. Not sure I still believe it, though.

It is just a matter of time before someone will figure it out and post it on the web. But the thing is, it will be error prone, and it will require a special cable and a special piece of SW. There will be many other things that we will be able to do, such as;
displaying blinkers in HUD
Being able to use fog lights with long beams
Enable the eyebrows
etc. etc.

Some guys over on the ********* forum have figured out the DVD-in-Motion settings and now have it working without having to add hardware. http://www.**************/showthread....Motion-for-CIC
Most of the other code changes I want have been figured out already. I've ordered a programming cable and will download the software and code tables to access and change the codes for myself. Time will tell...

Vag com is the best. BMW com is crazy complicated and should only be attempted by a trained technician in my book.

I don't think that is possible (but I could be wrong). My understanding so far is that there are basically two types of settings (the following are not necessarily actual settings): 1) active/non-active settings (i.e. "sound tone when remote lock" can be set active or not) and; 2) behavior based on predetermined value sets (i.e. "continuous press of remote lock" set to 0 does nothing, set to 1 opens windows, set to 2 open windows and sun roof or windows and roof on convertable). I think in your case (open windows) that control falls under the later.

yeah - I read it too - it did not sound straight forward at all.
and I built cloud computing service for top tier provider.
may be when you actually are doing it it would make more sense. but for sure it does not sound user friendly or fool proof or even gives you any assurance it will actually work in 100% of cases.
I'll try it though but I expect a lot of :
