Yes the rear tires are Falken Fk452's and they have a very thin and hard profile and yes, a very nice tread design as well.

If your planning on slapping some new wheels on your F10, I would say 21" is the way to go if you want it to look the BEST!! However, I will also advise that if going with 21" wheels, you should go with a tire that has a larger profile than the Falkens, which have 30 on the fronts and 25 on the rears. I can definitely feel a major difference in the ride quality compared to my older setup which had 35 profile on the fronts and 30 profile on the rears. I wasn't slammed on coilovers on my older setup either, which probably contributes to the ride quality of my current 21" setup.

A friend of mine has the same setup I have on a different car, but he has Continental DW's. 245/35/21 and 285/30/21 on a 9" front wheel and a 10.5 rear(slightly stretched). I drove his car and felt much, much smoother than my setup which is 255/30/21 and 295/25/21. Again, he isn't slammed on coilovers as I am, so that might also be the reason for the smoothness.

As far as rubbing, I rub very slightly only on big dips due to the aggressive offset I have on the rears and the lowness I have set on the coilovers, although if I raised the car about 1/4-1/2 an inch I wouldn't rub at all.

Moral of the story: If going with 21's all over again I would get a thicker profile tire, at least a 30 profile on the front and 35 on the rears, Other than that ALL IS GOOD
Your responses are always so detailed.... Don't worry Lui we'll need new tires soon

And let me add to the moral of the story. It's hard out there for a pimp

I wouldn't upsize the tires on 21" wheels too 35 and 30 profile.
30 and 25 profile keeps the diameter close to OEM.
I think 21" with 35 and 30 profile tires looks too big.

Dude thats awesome. Thanks for the info. Im in love with the 312 BMW rims and I want to put the 21" that are for the f07. Im only concerned right now with the rubbing. I noticed your rims cave inwards is that a diff offset than OEM? I researched and found that you can put a wider tire for a rim because (I love that M3 look your car has from the back with those massive 295!) the rims have 275 for rear and 245 front. I went on the BMW site and build a 550 and selected the 312 option the the 550, now i know its a generic image but it looks flush already at 275 rear. How are you doing it with 295 at the back? thats .8 inches wider. is that where the offset comes into play? when you load the car with people what happens?

Lui,

did your friend have any rubbing with those sizes? If not I might order tires with a larger profile myself.

Brian,

My buddy has no rubbing issues whatsoever.

Keep in mind though, your wheel's offsets are a great factor to how likely or unlikey you are to rub on your fenders, it depends on how aggressive/conservative an offset your running, and how high/low your ride height is.

He is running conservative offsets on his 21's and he is slightly lowered and has Zero rubbing with 30/35 profile tires.

great lookin wheels!

IMO the roof spoiler ruins the back/side profile....takes away from the flow. then again i've never been a fan of roof spoilers so it might just be me.

but overall a great lookin car!
