Purchasing F10 535i, need advise!
Hey guys and gals, i am trying to buy F10 535i, so i come to those of you that own one or had owned one. I want an M-pack with sports seats and sports transmission+paddle shifters. I kno its hard to find 2011 M pack, so im guessing 2012 or even 2013 model year.
Educate me on what should i look out for! what is the must have items on it. What are my options for wheels, tires, ?I belive it has n55 engine, which is what i have in my 335i now. Ive driven different F10 before, and i know that 550i is a beast, but i need 535i for my driving style. Thank you |

Well some with 2011's have reported issues such as pulling to the right, but I have a 2011 and have never experienced that. One thing to note is that all 2011 MSports came with ARS and that became a separate option in 2012, so many 2012+ MSports don't have this suspension option.

Test drive one first just to make sure you are okay with the driving dynamics (it's going to much less fierce than your 335 but much much more comfortable and quiet) and make sure to look for a 2013+ F10 if you start looking.

Yes... very true. Coming from a 335, I wasn't satisfied with a 535. With the extra weight and size, the N55 is a more moderate engine inside an F10 than the E90 or F30. I think it's MORE than sufficient, don't get me wrong, but it won't thrill you the way a 335 will.

Just get the M sports package and u'll get the seats and all the rest of the stuff with it. I got 19 inches on my M sport so i guess you can demand for 18 or 19 inch.

Realize that the M Sport package and suspension has changed every year until 2013 (2014 is the same as 2013).
2011/2012 I think some years M Sport included ARS (active roll bars) and/or EDC (electronic adjustable dampers), and some years those were separate options. Not sure myself I only came into the F10 fold in 2013. 2013/2014 M Sport RWD have the highly-regarded passive M Sport Suspension (704 option, stiffer/lower springs, stiffer/nonadjustable dampers, stiffer antiroll bars). The Dynamic Handling Package ("DHP", consisting of ARS and EDC) is a $3500 option, and removed the M Sport Suspension. xDrives don't get the M Sport suspension at all - if you're getting an X, the DHP is the only suspension upgrade from base. There was a small period early in the 2014 production (Aug, July?) when M Sport RWD didn't have the M Sport Suspension, it was added back with Sept 2014 builds. If you can swing a 2013 RWD with the 704 suspension, that's the one to shoot for. Some earlier years M Sport also included the Multi-Contour seats, recent years they're a separate option. Most M Sport owners buy the paddle shifters (sports transmission), but it's a $500 option and there will be some that don't have them. There's a no-cost option of either staggered wheels with summer tires (and higher speed limiter), or same-size wheels with all-season tires (and lower speed limiter). Something else to watch for.
