Tune question

Hey guys I have a 2013 550ix and I was looking to tune it..! I read that guys have the bms tuner for 500 bucks or less but I also see the dinan s2 for 3500 however the dinan is done at dealer and has a warrantee !! Does the bms have to be done at a shop and does it have a warrantee or can u remove it without dealer ever knowing? Idk which direction to go!?? Also does the bms tune give u the same advantages as dinan or close?

The Dinan tune is a DME Flash Tune, where they replace the firmware of the DME Module and Program it, so it needs to be installed in a shop. The BMS Tune is a Plugin Tune (aka Juice Box), so you can install it yourself and remove it whenever you want.

So if I pull it out and take it in to bmw they won't know and still warrantee it..? And also is there a big difference in power between the 2.? Thanks

shawnsheridan since you are the bmw cable and software guru..would you educate us if a third party DME performance tune flashed via OBD or directly by physically removing the ECU is detectable or not

I was told by a tuner that the dealer only checks for DME version number and dont really look for changes done to the map so the tune is undetected

Has anyone looked into checking for tuner codes with BMW f10? I wouldn't have the balls to tune. Any ideas?
