Power Outlets (Cigarette Lighters) Not working.

I plugged in my radar detector yesterday and it didn't turn on! Ruled out a problem with my detector when I tried to charge my phone using the car charger. Finally I tried using my cigarette lighter and it didn't even heat up.

The day before I was fiddling below my seat because I lost an electric cigarette in the black hole that is under a bimmer seat. Could I have hit something that affected the outlets? Any thoughts on how to fix it?

I NEED MY RADAR BACK SOMEONE HELP!

P.S. - Both of the outlets no longer work. (Front and rear).

Sounds like possibly a blown fuse. Have you checked the fuse boxes in the trunk and the glove box?
If you google "replace cigarette lighter fuse BMW F10" you'll find a guide someone wrote for the F10 touring. Yours should be similar.

Late to this post but can't see another with an answer...so my front and rear cigarette lighter sockets don't work but both the 12v sockets (boot and glovebox) do.

Did anyone find an answer/solution to this?

Thanks

Thanks. I'll have a word next time it's in for a service. Not a major issue. The glovebox is live and I use the boot to charge/power the kids DVD players on the move but would be convenient to have the rear passenger one working too to save lead over back seats.

Yep, most probably a blown fuse. Happened to me too. If I remember correctly 20A regular yellow fuse. Located behind the glove box - I changed it myself directly not necessary to dismantle anything.

If you prefer the dealer of course will do it for you.
