Hi folks. I've noticed some rust creeping in on my LCI 520d (late 2014)touring. It's near the rubber trim on the rear door where it meets the front door. The same is also happening on the passenger side as well.

Even though I've done 70k from new the car is immaculate and worn it's miles well. Apart from replacement EGR valve under warranty the car has been faultless. I hand wash it weekly and keep it waxed so it's not really had a build up of dirt and has been well cared for.

I've spoken to my local dealer today who have suggested putting a warranty claim in for replacement rear doors!

Just wondered if anyone else has had a similar issue? I've attached some pictures.

Exactly the same on my 2010 F10 - both doors repaired without hesitation by BMW just last week.

Do they replace the doors or repair?

Just checked mine and both driver side doors have this issue

Thanks for your replies folks. Where abouts on the front door was the rust?

Cheers

I spoke to the bodyshop at the dealer this morning and he said they will replace the doors rather than repair.

Judging by the replies so far, it doesn't seem to be an uncommon problem!

Get it booked in before your warranty expires
