Anyone done a A/B ride test between F10 and Lexus?

Now - don't beat me up too hard - I'm just looking for objective opinions from folks who have driven both.

I've had (very) short test drives in a F10 528i and a F10 535i. And although they handle wonderfully and are beautiful to behold, I've been a little put off on the smoothness of the ride. Is it the RF tires?

Or am I getting too old for a BMW and need a Japanese car? Or a Buick??

Larger cars have more mass, and cars with more mass drive smoother. The F10 obeys the same laws of physics as other larger cars.

Just out of curiosity, where'd you get to test drive the 528i?

The tires do have something to do with it, but it's really a confluence of many factors. Mass, tires, suspension, tuning, dampers, etc. You're putt off by the smoothness of the ride, but you want something more soft, Lexus Buick?

I drove the ES350 and the 523 & 535 F10 without Dynamic Drive.

There is just no comparison between the Lexus & F10. Feel, quality & overall finish goes to the F10.

The only thing that was strong in the ES is the engine if you compare it to the 523. Otherwise, the 535 wins against the ES350 hands down in every category except price. I also did not like the soft standard suspension of the F10 even though it was better damped than the ES350. A M Suspension or Dynamic Drive option is a must with the F10.
